"We went ahead and combined these categories into one write-up because FIG is not only the best downtown restaurant, it's the best damn restaurant in Charleston. At the beginning of 2012 FIG got a big facelift (new bathrooms!), and Charleston got a big announcement: Mike Lata and Adam Nemirow are finally ready to expand with a second restaurant — this one, an oyster bar on Upper King Street. They promise that the move will not lessen their focus on maintaining FIG as their flagship. The team they've assembled at FIG is on point, and the restaurant has confidently settled into its perennial role as the Best Restaurant in Charleston without resting on its laurels — no easy feat"
