October 14, 2009 Lowcountry Field Feast
We had the honor this past Sunday of taking part in the first annual Lowcountry Field Feast, a farm fieldtrip and dinner to benefit Lowcountry Local First.

After smoking a whole hog overnight on Jimmy Hagood's massive smoker, the crew at FIG packed up the truck and headed out to Keegan-Filion Farm in Walterboro. We serve Keegan Filion pork and chicken at FIG, and have always been astounded at how gorgeous their product is. So, it was an honor to be able to cook their pork on site at their farm in Walterboro. We cooked a 4 course farm-to-plate menu for around 125 people, all of it sourced locally from farms in the area. It was a beautiful evening spent with great friends, cool tunes, the best wines and the most perfect farm setting around. We had a blast! Enjoy some of the photos, taken by Brennan Wesley.
