June 29, 2009 Chef Lata Around Town : Two Special Summertime Events
We wanted to let you know about two cool off-site events we're supporting this month. The first is a benefit dinner for Share Our Strengh at McCrady's on Tuesday, July 14. The second is a special guest chef dinner at the Ocean Room on Kiawah on Thursday, July 16.
Chef Lata will be at McCrady's on Tuesday, July 14 for a special dinner benefitting Share Our Strength, a national organization working to end childhood hunger. We're excited about the stellar line-up of chefs we'll be joining: Sean Brock of McCrady's, Ken Vedrinski of Trattoria Lucca in Charleston, R.J. Cooper of Vidalia in D.C., and Tyler Brown of The Capitol Grille in Nashville. Tickets are $95 and more information is available online by clicking here. We expect this to be a really special event to be a part of, and are honored to be raising money and awareness for such a worthy cause.
Next up is a special dinner at the Ocean Room at The Sanctuary on Kiawah Island. We've been invited to cook with Chef de Cuisine Nathan Thurston as part of the Ocean Room's Guest Chef Dinner Series. True to form, we'll be dishing up a four course meal based on the Lowcountry's summer harvest--fresh tomatoes, sweet corn, and watermelon will all make appearances.
