The FIG team recently lent a helping hand at the Neighborhood House in Charleston to take part in the Charleston Chefs Feed The Need Initiative. Feed the Need is a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting education and awareness of local hunger issues by sponsoring local activities and events.
In January 2009, Mike had the opportunity to visit the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergis Cay in the British West Indies as guest chef for the weekend. Before he jetted off for a weekend of fresh fish, tropical flavors and beautiful beaches, he was interviewed about his passion for cooking for"In Conversation With...," a monthly series of intimate video lectures featuring the inspiring personalities who are invited to visit the island.
